There is no single implant itinerary that fits every patient. Ask the treating dentist to specify each stage, required stay and return visit before you buy non-refundable travel. A first visit ending with temporary teeth may not complete the treatment in your quote.
The FDA notes that implant healing can take several months or longer. Your clinician sets the timing for your case. We do not publish a clinic-approved day-by-day itinerary until the clinic has supplied and approved it.
The schedule to request from your clinic
| Stage | Ask the clinician to specify | What you need for planning |
|---|---|---|
| Before travel | Records needed and limits of remote review | When the provisional plan can be discussed |
| In-person assessment | Examinations and possible plan changes | Whether the schedule remains provisional |
| Treatment visit | Planned work, reviews and temporary restoration if applicable | Dates, required stay and a clinical contact |
| Healing or review interval | Review arrangements and criteria for the next stage | Whether another trip is needed and when to confirm it |
| Final restoration | Material, laboratory steps and fitting appointments | Required stay and stage payment |
| After returning home | Maintenance, records and response to problems | Named follow-up contacts and responsibilities |
This is a planning worksheet, not a prescribed treatment sequence. Some cases need additional stages, and the clinician may revise the plan after examination.
Questions behind a “one-trip” offer
Ask whether the advertised visit completes treatment or provides an interim restoration. Ask which later appointments remain, whether their costs are included and what could change the schedule. Do not treat a sales label as clinical clearance to travel home.
Request a written distinction between temporary and final restorations. If you are comparing estimates, use the same-scope cost checklist.
Get a return-travel plan before booking
Ask when the clinician expects you can travel and whether that advice can change after treatment. Confirm who decides if you need an extra review or longer stay. Ask your airline or booking provider about change terms separately; a clinic estimate is not an airline policy.
Put every proposed visit into the trip-cost calculator. Compare a provisional lower-cost plan against the cost of an extra stay or return visit without assuming the allowance covers every possible expense.
Arrange the handoff home
Discuss follow-up before departure. The CDC advises obtaining medical records in English and planning care after returning home. Ask the treating team what to do if a problem occurs and who to contact. Do not delay local assessment while waiting for a reply or a return trip if a complication is suspected.
Ask us to help organize the quote and itinerary questions. MxSmiles handles administrative comparisons; the treating dentist must approve your treatment and schedule. We may receive a referral fee from a partner clinic.
